Families can get involved in planting trees, enjoy the outdoors and help create a woodland that will be enjoyed for generations to come. It’s a great opportunity for children to discover more about nature and play their part in caring for the local landscape. It’s free to take part and all equipment will be provided but please book your space so we know how many people to expect on the day.Β

Monthly Round-Up

September at Much Wenlock Primary School
From Mrs HJ
What a September it has been!
It feels like no time at all since we opened the doors for the new school year, and already so much has happened at Much Wenlock!
It has been wonderful to see the school full of life again – children learning, laughing, playing, asking questions and looking after one another. There has been so much to celebrate already.
Adventures and memories
Our Year 6 children have enjoyed their Arete residential, throwing themselves into new experiences, challenging themselves and making those special memories that we know they will talk about for years to come.
We also welcomed our Linden Year 6 families into school for a family meal. I always love opportunities like this – school is at its best when children, families and staff come together and simply enjoy being part of our community.
My very regal moment!
One of my absolute highlights this month came courtesy of some of our youngest children in Spring Class, who designed and created my very own spotty cloak and umbrella for Dot Day!
This week, I had the great honour of parading their fabulous creation around school. I felt very regal – and incredibly privileged to have such a magnificent garment made especially for me!
Thank you, Spring Class. I think you may have set the bar rather high for my future school wardrobe!
Belonging at Much Wenlock
We were delighted to welcome David O’Toole, CEO of the 3–18 Education Trust, into school this month.
David spent time talking to children from across the school about something that matters enormously to us at Much Wenlock – belonging. He commented on just how calm the school felt and how wonderful our children were.
Hearing somebody from outside school recognise the things we see in our children every day was a very proud moment.
New faces and exciting developments
September has also brought some new faces to Much Wenlock. Our new team members have settled in brilliantly and already feel very much part of the Wenlock family.
There has been lots happening behind the scenes too. Our new Inclusion Base has now been built, and we are really excited about what this will bring to our school.
We aren’t rushing to open the doors – we want to get it right. The team are working hard behind the scenes to develop the provision, resources and environment so that, when it does open, it is something really special and genuinely meets the needs of the children who will benefit from it.
What a start!
There have been so many lovely moments already this year, and these are just a few of them.
Thank you, as always, to our brilliant children, families and staff for everything you bring to Much Wenlock. It is the people within our school who make it the special community it is, and I feel incredibly proud to be part of it.
There is lots more to come, and I look forward to sharing more with you in next month’s Round-Up!
Mrs HJ

Summer Fair Volunteers Needed!

Dear Parents and Carers,
As we prepare for our upcoming school fair, we are looking for volunteers to help run stalls. As a small school with limited staff, your support really does make a big difference.
If you are able to help, even for a short time, please email/come and see the school office.
Thank you for helping us make this event a success!
