Starting School in Reception

The admissions number for this Reception year and future years is 30.

Children can attend primary school from the September following their 4th birthday. If your child’s 4th birthday falls between (1st September 2024 to 31st August 2025) (Date of birth between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021) then they will start school in September 2025.

How to apply for a school place

The Local Authority, Shropshire Council manages the admissions process for all Reception September starters. Applications should be made online via the Shropshire Council website from 2 November 2024 to 15 January 2025. You will be able to select your top 3 preferences of Primary School for your child.

Allocation of school places

Allocation Day will be in April 2025. Shropshire Council will allocate places and write to all parents notifying them of their allocated school place. We will also write to parents whose children have been allocated a school place at Much Wenlock Primary School and begin the School Induction process.

Starting School Mid Year for Reception to Year 6 children

From 1 September 2024. Shropshire Council will be coordinating and allocating all requests for places at our school.

Your application will be processed by the School Admissions Team at Shropshire Council in accordance with our school’s oversubscription criteria. You will then be notified via letter of the outcome of your application.
